  • Show your baby that the toy moves and encourage your little one to push it along the ground and crawl after it.
  • Turn on the vehicle and show your child the digger in action - demonstrate how to press the head down to make it go. (At this stage your infant may be too young to do this themselves but they will love to watch the truck spring to life and move across the floor.)

    • 18+ months

  • Show your child how to turn on the truck and make it go. Encourage him or her to do it themselves.
  • Talk about the appearance of the truck and it's driver - e.g. what colour it is, how many wheels has it got, what the driver is wearing on his head.
  • When the opportunity arises show your infant a real digger and talk about it's similarities with the toy one
