• 12+ months
• Introduce your child to the First Friends baby, rocker and big sister by letting the pieces be handled and explored independently - help he or she to discover the moving clicking parts if necessary, and how the baby can be rocked in the rocker.
• Encourage your child to move the characters into different positions
• Ask your child simple questions such as 'can you make the head move?' ' can you help to rock the baby?'
• Talk with your child about when they were a little baby - tell them the things you had to do to look after them - feeding, cuddling, burping etc.
• Encourage your child to talk about his or her new friends
• Encourage independent play time
• 18+ months
• Encourage your child to arrange the items by themselves whether as a stand alone scene, or as elements in the First Friends Play House
• You may like to introduce other First Friends characters and family members to assist looking after baby!
• Encourage your child to talk about babies and big sisters!
• Introduce your younger child to simple vocabulary such as ‘happy’ ‘baby’ ‘rocking’ ‘gentle’ etc
• Encourage lots of pretend play with the baby and sister - let your child take the lead but assist with ideas if necessary. You may like to bring in other characters and family members to create imaginative family fun!
