12+ months

• Introduce your child to the First Friends Baby and Rocker by letting the pieces be handled and explored independently - help your child to discover Baby's moving clicking parts if necessary, and how the baby can be rocked in the rocker
• Talk with your child about when they were a little baby - tell them the things you had to do to look after them - feeding, cuddling, burping etc. Encourage your child to look after the baby - especially if they have a younger sibling, or one on the way!
• The baby and rocker is an ideal addition to the First Friends Family and Play House - assist your child to arrange the items in the house and encourage independent play time



18+ months

• Encourage your child to arrange the items by themselves whether as a stand alone scene, or as elements in the First Friends Play House
• You may like to introduce other First Friends characters and family members to assist looking after baby!
• Encourage your child to talk about babies - what they do, and how we need to look after them
• Introduce your younger child to simple vocabulary such as ‘happy’ ‘baby’ ‘rocking’ ‘gentle’ etc
• Encourage lots of pretend play with the baby - let your child take the lead but assist with ideas if necessary. You may like to bring in other characters and family members to create imaginative family fun!
